Corneal abrasion is a condition in which there's a scratch or cut on the protective covering at the front of the eye, called the cornea.
A corneal abrasion may feel like sand in the eye. Other symptoms include pain, redness, tearing and blurred vision.
Treatment involves rinsing the eye to wash away any particles that may be present. Medicine called an antibiotic may be used to lessen infection risk.
