Lumbar radiculopathy
June 13, 2017
Lumbar radiculopathy is a disease near the root of a nerve in the lower (lumbar) spine. Examples include a pinched nerve and swelling that compresses a nerve.
Pain, numbness, and tingling are symptoms. Pain radiating down the back of the leg is called sciatica.
Treatments are self-care, medication, such as NSAIDs or muscle relaxants, physical therapy, and possibly surgery.
