Cauda equina syndrome
June 13, 2017
Cauda equina syndrome is a serious condition in which the nerves at the end of the spinal cord are compressed. These nerve roots control the bladder, bowel, and legs.
Pain or numbness in the legs, buttocks, and inner thighs, and loss of bladder or bowel control are symptoms.
Surgery, radiation, or corticosteroids may be needed urgently.
